Camp or activity plan

Fill this in before the activity. It is your risk plan: what could go wrong and what you will do about it. Save it, and it can be printed or saved as a PDF to give to parents or the elders.

The activity

For example: Youth camp at Lake Taupō, Sunday school picnic, working bee, church van trip.

Have all leaders and helpers had the safety checks our church requires?

Before you go

Have you talked to the venue or site manager about their hazards and emergency plan?
Do you have each person’s medical needs, allergies and medicines written down?
Have parents or caregivers given permission for everyone under 18?
How are people travelling?
Do all drivers have the right licence and a safe, warranted vehicle?
Will there be water activities (swimming, boats, a river or lake nearby)?

For example: lifejackets on, a lifeguard or qualified supervisor watching, no one swims alone, a head count every time.
